Blog 6: English Language Challenges

Hi everyone! My name is María Jesús and today I'm going to be talking about my experience with English, having Engish classes in University and learning the language in general.  This semester is the first time I have an English class since High school, and from the beginning I could notice big differences between both ways of learning the language, for example, it was very surprising for me starting an English class and having to actually practice speaking all the time. I've always been interested in learning a new language, and in High school I was very good in English classes, but this is a totally different experience, in a good way! I think I have improved a lot with University English classes, because like I said before, we have to use the language all the time, and because of that I am not that shy anymore and I feel more comfortable speaking the language. Blog 5: Changes to my study program

Hi everyone!, My name is María Jesús and today I would like to talk about some changes in the study program of my career, psychology.  Starting with the curriculum, I really like the subjects we have in psychology, but regarding the General Training Courses (CFG in Spanish), I don't really think they should be mandatory. There is a very small percentage of possibilities of getting one you really enjoy, and because of that, with the pass of time, it starts to feel like a load more in the academic charge. Speaking of technology, I believe it would be a good idea if all classes were recorded; I understand that this would affect student attendance to the actual lecture, but it would be very useful not only for evaluations, but also in cases of emergencies that students can have. It would be reassuring to know you don't have to always be taking notes of everything, and I think it would make classes more enjoyable. Blog 4: Post-Graduate Studies

Hi everyone! My name is María Jesús and today I'm going to be talking about post-graduate studies. After I finish my undergrad studies and work for a little bit  I would like to study a master's program. This is because I would like to specialize in clinical psychology and child psychology so I can work with children that need help with their mental health. In this program I would like to study subjects such as psychodiagnosis, so i can learn how to identify different types of disorders and diagnose my patients the best I can.  I would like to travel to study outside of Chile, because i think it is a great opportunity not only to learn in a different way and to get to live in a different country as a student, but also it is a good job opportunity and it could open a bunch of doors for me in the practice of my profession. I still haven't decided which country I would like to study, but that is mainly because I would like to work for a little bit before going back to studying...

Blog 3: My dream job

Hi! My name is María Jesús and today I'm going to be talking about my dream job. I don't know very well what exactly I want to become at this point in my life, but so far I would like to be a child psychologst. Mainly because I would like to be able to help kids that need psychological help, especially kids that struggle with mental health problems such as depression and anxiety, but also because I love kids and I find really interesting the way children see the world. I would like to work in the public service, because in Chile mental health services are very expenssive and a lot of the times inaccessible for the people that cant afford it. To work as a child psychologist I will need to be very patient and understanding, keeping in mind that I'm going to be working with children. Also I will need to be very observant to find out the way to help the kids the best as I can. Regarding the salary, I dont really care too much about the money, I just want to be able to sustain m...

Blog 2: The best vacation ever

Hi!  My name is María Jesús and in this blog I'm going to be talking about one of the best vacations ever i had in my life.  This vacation happend in February of 2021, we went with my mom and little sister to Coquimbo, specifically Pichidangui that is a small place located in Los vilos. We stayed there for 2 whole weeks and in that period of time we ate a lot of tasty food in different restaurants, we went on very long walks arround the city to get to know the place better, and we spent a lot of our time on the beach!, on the beach we played lots of card games and beach volleyball.  I know it doesn't sound too much like a super special vacation, but so far it has been the best for me. The beach is one of my favorites places in the world and i really loved Pichidangui, it was very beautiful and even though the pandemic was happening we managed to have a really good time. Blog 1: A country I would like to visit

 Hi, my name is Maía Jesús Vicencio and today i will be talking about a country i would like to visit. To start I will say that I really want to visit a English speaking country because it is a language I can understand (most of the time c:) and that would allow me to comunicate better with the people that live there and get to understand better their culture. So having that in mind, a country that really catches my eye is England; this is a country that I find very beautiful because of its architecture (to be honest, I like the aesthetics of the place a lot, London specifically). England is an European country, part of the United Kingdom, its capital is London and it is a common tourist destiation.
